On October 7,2017, my husband and I welcomed our first child, a little girl we named Ruby, but due to unforeseen health issues, she passed away when she was just 2 days old. For the first year following her birth, I used Facebook as a platform to share my thoughts and my feelings as a bereaved mother. I used it as a way to work through my grief and the countless emotions that come with losing a child. In the weeks leading up to our daughter's first birthday, I decided that I wanted to give blogging a try. I wanted to be able to say more than a facebook status will allow.
